Curiosity, creativity, and innovation are vibrant throughout Kenya, where all learners have the opportunity to be visionaries, scientists, engineers, researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, and Kenya’s youth will be vital players in the global economy.
Nemayiana, The Africa Museum of Science and Technology (AMST), is a center of gravity for Pan-African science learning. Through interactive exhibitions and programs, Nemayiana harnesses the potential of Africa’s youth for the greater good of our future.

Why a science & technology museum
With a population exceeding one billion, including over 400 million children under the age of 15, many in Africa have never had the opportunity to experience a science museum. While the United States boasts over 400 science museums and the UK over 50, Africa has just a few. Nemayiana aims to support a curiosity-driven approach to science engagement that celebrates the richness of what is present in Kenya and across the African continent
Nemayiana is being created in collaboration with instrumental partners, two in Nairobi: The GoDown Arts Centre, Kenya’s leading platform for cultural exchange, and Gearbox, Kenya’s first makerspace. The third partner, the Exploratorium, shares a commitment to celebrating the culture, curiosity, creativity, and innovation that are thriving in Kenya.
